One of decisions you will have to make after deciding to implement Sap Business One is which database to use.

The two options you have to choose from is between

  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • SAP HANA Server

Both will serve you the purpose of storing your data but there are some significant differences between the two. Some of the differences between the two are;

  1. Speed

SAP HANA is much more faster. It’s in memory capability means that data is stored on the RAM and therefore faster to retrieve.

2.  Reporting and Analytics

SAP HANA has very advanced analytics capabilities. Additionally, SAP HANA supports higher processing features such as MRP & ATP.

SAP HANA comes preloaded with dashboards and KPIs.

3.  Server Price and Server Compatibility

SAP HANA server requires a higher RAM .. 64GB minimum which has been certified by SAP.

4.  Operating System

While Microsoft SQL Server runs on Windows Server, SAP HANA runs on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server.
